, is being enhanced by the
addition of hundreds of new transcripts from Verilogue over the next
year.
Verilogue digitally records live interactions
between patients and physicians and, once anonymized, the
transcripts are provided to professionals and students in the mental
health discipline to enhance understanding of disease and treatment.
Now, with this new agreement, database users will be able to
research an additional 4,000 pages of content on topics such as
depression, bipolar disorder, adult ADHD, and, for the first time,
schizophrenia.
“Verilogue is excited to provide researchers with
access to real, in-office psychiatrist-patient conversations,” said
Jamison Barnett, Verilogue Vice President and Co-founder. “This will
provide educators and students with firsthand access to live patient
cases, and the corresponding insights can be used to study, analyze,
and improve physician-patient communications.”
Created by SAGE and Alexander Street Press,
Counseling and Psychotherapy Transcripts, Client Narratives, and
Reference Works contains 40,000 pages of actual therapy sessions
and first-person accounts, including firstperson diaries and
memoirs, letters, autobiographies, and oral histories, as well as
25,000 pages of SAGE reference works.
“Counseling and Psychotherapy Transcripts, Client
Narratives, and Reference Works is filling a true research gap
by offering the candid voice of the client,” commented Stephen
Rhind-Tutt, Alexander Street Press President. “The Verilogue
doctor/patient transcripts are a natural addition to the therapy
transcripts, client narratives, and other reference sources the
database already contains.”
“We’re pleased to add the Verilogue transcripts to
the database,” added Alison Mudditt, SAGE Executive Vice President.
“SAGE continually searches for ways to provide our users with a
world-class research experience and these definitely help us reach
that goal.”
