Kathleen Arban, LCSW-C
Assistant Clinical Professor, Salisbury University

Assistant Clinical Professor for Salisbury University and Site Coordinator for Salisbury University’s Southern Maryland location. She received her BA from Cedar Crest College and MSW from University of Maryland, Baltimore.  Kathleen was an adjunct instructor and field instructor for Loyola College, University of Maryland and the College of Southern Maryland prior to coming to Salisbury University in 2013.  She has held various positions in the social work field including, supervisor, case manager, advocate, program administrator, therapist, grant administrator, and program designer. 

Arthur C Tannenbaum
Associate Curator and Social Work Librarian, New York University

Associate Curator and Social Work Librarian in the Bobst Library, and has also taught in the English Department and the Freshman Honors Seminars. He is responsible for collecting  clinical and research materials in print and media formats for  the Silver School of Social work. In addition he is the collection specialist for recreation and leisure studies. First as a student and then as a faculty member, he has been at NYU for more than forty years. In the Ninety's  he received the University’s Distinguished Teaching Medal in recognition for his work with students.

 

Stephanie T. Burns, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Western Michigan University

Assistant Professor at Western Michigan University in the Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology Department where she is the Director of the Clinical Mental Health Program. Dr. Burns is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Ohio and Michigan; a National Certified Counselor (NCC); and the chapter advisor for the Mu Beta Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota. She is co-chair of the Chi Sigma Iota Professional Advocacy Committee and is the inaugural Edwin L. Herr Fellow for Excellence in Counseling Leadership and Scholarship. Dr. Burns has published nine peer reviewed journal articles on counseling, presented at state, regional, and national counseling association conferences, provided CEU training workshops, and has served on local, state, and national counseling association committees. Her research areas of interest include student learning outcomes, counselor professional identity, the psychometrics of career interest inventories, career development, neurofeedback, counseling outcomes, program evaluation, and supervision. Her counseling honors over the last three years have included two local and seven national awards

Ryan D. Foster
Assistant Professor, Marymount University

Assistant professor of counseling at Marymount University in Arlington, VA. Dr. Foster is particularly interested in the effects of transpersonal experiences on grief and loss. Ryan is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) in Texas, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Humanistic Sandtray Therapist (CHST). Ryan is assistant editor for the Journal of Near-Death Studies. He is serving currently as a board member for the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling.

Ma’at Erica Lewis
Associate Professor/Deputy Chair, John Jay College of Criminal Justice

Ma’at Erica Lewis, Ph.D. is an associate professor with the Department of Counseling at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the immediate past deputy chair. Formerly, the inaugural full-time director of the Counseling Services Center at John Jay, Dr. Lewis oversaw development of the Center and initiated John Jay becoming the second City University of New York college to receive accreditation from the International Association of Counseling Services (IACS).  Prior to the directorship Dr. Lewis developed innovative courses on spirituality and counseling, multicultural issues in human services, a practicum in youth justice and was a lead faculty member in creation of the minors in counseling and human services. Dr. Lewis earned a doctorate in Counseling Psychology and a master of arts in Organizational Psychology at Columbia University. She is Board Certified in African-Centered/Black Psychology, an Egyptian Yoga level two instructor, and certified in Transpersonal Breathwork and Transpersonal Psychotherapy. Dr. Lewis is a Past President of the New York Association of Black Psychologists and former board member of the National Association of Black Psychologists.

Susan Wortman
Senior Associate Librarian, University of Michigan

Senior Associate Librarian at Hatcher Graduate Library where she is responsible for collection development in the areas of community organizing, social policy, gerontology, child & family practice, management of human services and other areas related to the research and educational interests of the University Of Michigan School Of Social Work. Her research interests include disparities in access to information and metaliteracy in the social work curriculum.
